The corporate cop is a soft and immovable target for critics who have every right to call for accountability. But this is hardly a suitable environment for rebuilding its ‘battered’ culture.
The phrase “culture eats strategy for breakfast” can be applied to the existential problem faced by an organisation trying to implement a sensible strategy while trying to fix a broken or damaged culture.
This applies in spades to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, which is trying to build a consistent and sustainable high-performance culture under chairman Joe Longo.
